Choose from a total of 16 colour filters including two new film-like options for both stills and video - "NegativeFilmtone" and "PositiveFilmtone". Adjust the strength of the colour filters from 0% to 100% (total of 10 levels of adjustment) in-camera according to your preferences.

Handheld Night Scene Mode

A new Handheld Night Scene mode is available for stills with 5 colour modes. Choose between the "Standard" colour mode where it generally brightens dark areas of your images or the tinted colour modes like "Blue", "Black & Orange", "Pink" and "Green". Shooting impressive night scenes straight out of your camera without RAW processing is now easier.

Cinema View

Record in 2.35:1 widescreen to achieve cinematic wide angles of view and frame rates close to that of a film. This can be used in combination with colour filters and Slow & Fast Motion Movie mode, making it easy to create movies with a film-like atmosphere.

Background Blur

Give your videos a dreamy look and make your subject stand out more by adjusting the amount of bokeh in your background (up to 5 levels of adjustment) using the Background Blur feature in Scene Intelligent Auto movie mode.

*Amount of blur is subject to the widest aperture available on the attached lens.

Defocus

Easily achieve smooth defocus transitions in your videos by assigning the Defocus settings to any customisable button. Pressing the button defocuses your videos automatically at the blur and speed levels you set. You can adjust the blur up to 5 levels and speed is adjustable to 10 levels.  

LUT Files

Achieve the colour tones that you envision in your videos by adjusting the intensity of your favourite LUT files from 10% to 100% (a total of 10 levels of adjustment) - a new feature found on the EOS R8 Mark II!

Easily download these files on a SD card or your smartphone using Camera Connect and apply them immediately on the EOS R8 Mark II.

Auto Mode - Advanced A+ and Creative Bracket

Shooting night scenes and backlit shots is now easier with Advanced A+ mode that intelligently recognises the scene and applies the optimum settings automatically for well-balanced, high-quality results.

Want to experiment with different creative styles? With a single snap, Creative Bracketing mode automatically generates multiple versions of the same photo with different brightness and colour settings applied. Just pick your favourite look during playback!

High-Speed Shooting

Be it fast-moving cars, wildlife or sports, the EOS R8 Mark II keeps up with the speed of your subjects. The EOS R8 Mark II captures photos at up to 40 frames per second with electronic shutter. You can also set electronic 1^st curtain for flash photography or shooting fast moving subjects with less rolling shutter.

Save up to 20 frames before you fully press the shutter, even the moments you didn't anticipate. Be in the moment with a peace of mind instead of fully relying on your intuition and experience to capture.

Register People Priority

Focus easily on your desired subject even in a crowded scene.

By registering people in the camera in advance, the EOS R8 Mark II will be able to detect and lock focus on a specific person when there are multiple people in the frame. This is extremely useful for group scenes.

Subject Detection

Track your subjects quickly and accurately across stills and video, thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF II.

Powered by Deep Learning AF, the EOS R8 Mark II recognises and follows people, animals and vehicles, holding focus on faces, eyes, heads and bodies even as subjects move unpredictably.

4K 60p with 6K Oversampling

Create detailed 4K 60p footage oversampled from 6K. This allows you to achieve cleaner, more detailed images with smoother gradations and more accurate colours.

FHD 1080p for Slow-Mo with Audio Recording

Make moments slower in Full HD 1080p for added impact and detail - with audio captured, your footage is ready to use straight out of the camera.
